who we are

RichardVicoryDr. Richard Vicory is the owner of Performance Rehabilitation in Central Florida. Richard established Performance Rehabilitation in May of 2006. It is a private practice physical therapy and aquatic therapy facility dedicated to helping people to live more active, pain-free and independent lives.

Richard is a strong advocate for physical therapy and aquatic physical therapy because of the many unique benefits that each provides to a wide range of patients that are diverse in age, gender and backgrounds. Richard firmly believes that one-on-one personal attention, combined with patient education is essential to provide the best outcome to your care.

Richard received his Physical Therapy education at University of North Florida in 1997, and his Doctor of Physical Therapy from College of St. Scholastica in 2012.  His professional interests focus on orthopedics and reduced weight bearing interventions. He has advanced education and certifications in orthopedic treatment, manual therapy, neuro-rehabilitation, and aquatic therapy. Richard also actively participates in clinical education. He is passionate about exposing students to physical therapy and its multitude of benefits.

When asked what his favorite part of being a physical therapist is, Richard’s answer is simply (and quite humbly) “I enjoy helping people.” Beyond a doubt, physical therapy is Richard’s passion and he is unquestionably in his ‘element’ when treating and caring for patients at Performance Rehabilitation.

Richard and the entire staff at Performance Rehabilitation are committed to delivering the most compassionate, comfortable and enjoyable therapy experience possible … one that is truly exceptional and exceeds all expectations. We invite you to come and see for yourself …  and let the healing begin!

lisaLisa Berrios is our Patient Services Manager. She was born in Brooklyn N.Y, where she spent most of her childhood. As Lisa got older, she moved to the Island of Puerto Rico, where she met her husband, married and had 3 boys.  While in Puerto Rico, Lisa was introduced to the abundance of animal life on the island and that’s where she noticed her passion was for animal health. Lisa attended to abandoned puppies and kittens, exotic species of birds, farm animals and even reptiles! Lisa studied and practiced at a specialized agricultural school and graduated as an honor student as a licensed Veterinary Technician. She worked in the field for 16 years (10 years as a surgical technician). After having more contact with human clients, Lisa wanted to drive her knowledge and caring abilities to where she could be of more service attending to the patients’ needs. Lisa decided to go back to City College, where she studied Medical Billing and coding and Office administration.

Lisa loves the beach, car racing, car shows, paintball, music and rollercoasters. She also enjoys spending time with her Grandson and Granddaughter. Lisa also loves her 4 Pomeranians, 2 cats and her African Gray.

Lisa says that one of her favorite things about becoming a team member at Performance Rehabilitation is having the ability to work in a family environment where everyone cares for each other. Lisa says she enjoys attending to the patients’ needs, communicating with them and making them feel comfortable. Lisa’s is the first smiling face you will see when you visit our clinic; and the cheerful voice you’ll hear when you call us on the phone. Come in and say hello…Lisa will be happy to help!

Suzi Headshot

Suzi Suarez is our Business Development and Marketing Manager. Suzi originally came to Performance Rehabilitation as a patient, following her knee surgery in July of 2014. After her surgery, Suzi was in pain, had very limited range of motion and could not comfortably go jogging. After receiving care from Dr. Vicory, she is pain-free; has regained full range of motion and is back to jogging! Suzi was so impressed with the quality of care and treatment that she received, she happily accepted a job working for Performance Rehabilitation when it was offered to her. Now while marketing, she calls herself Performance Rehabilitation’s ‘walking billboard’.

Suzi was born in Pennsylvania and moved to Florida in 1978. She has an extensive background in Business Administration and Marketing. Suzi currently lives in Apopka with her husband, Al, their 2 dachshunds and 1 bird. She enjoys camping and shelling at the beach. Suzi’s favorite part of her job is spreading the word about Performance Rehabilitation because she wants people to know that they too can feel better following an injury or surgery if they receive care at Performance Rehabilitation.

Dayana-Pink Headshot

Dayana Estrada is one of our Physical Therapy Assistants. Dayana was born in Camaguey Cuba and currently lives in North Orlando. She graduated from University of Medical Science Carlos J. Finlay as a PTA.  Dayana’s goal is to re-evaluate her credits from her university in Cuba in order to continue her studies at Herzing University For PTA.

One of Dayana’s favorite hobbies is to go to the beach. She enjoys the sound of the ocean and the view of the sunset.  Dayana loves to connect and help people. What Dayana loves most about physical therapy is seeing the results in patients as they improve.

Frank NewFrank Thompson is one of our Physical Therapy Assistants. Frank graduated from Seminole State College with an Associates in Science Degree for Physical Therapist Assistant with Magna Cum Laude honors. Frank is excited to pursue further education in many different areas and grow with Performance Rehabilitation. His hobbies include weight training, martial arts, fishing, kayaking and rock climbing. Frank says what he likes most about physical therapy is applying the things he has learned, watching the patients progress and be able to gain and maintain a better quality of life.

Kimberly Long is one of our Physical Therapy Assistants. She was born in Tampa and raised in Lakeland where she currently resides. Kimberly graduated from the Physical Therapist Assistant program at Polk State College in Winter Haven, FL with an Associate of Science degree. She is planning to further her education and earn several certifications in different areas of physical therapy.

Kimberly has two energetic dogs (a German Shepherd and a Bichon Frise) that she loves spending quality time with by taking them for walks, to dog parks, and playing fetch. Kimberly also loves being involved in outdoor sports activities, listening to music, dancing, sightseeing and going on vacations with her sweet, loving husband. In her spare time, Kimberly also enjoys cooking, baking and enjoys trying different recipes.

When asked what she likes most about working in the physical therapy field, her reply is simply this: “I have always wanted to work in the medical field. I have been involved in sports activities growing up which led me to be interested in the physical therapy field. I enjoy assisting patients to get back on their feet, giving encouragement to patients through treatments and see the positive results that they deserve from physical therapy.”
